Inclement Weather Policy

First and foremost, the safety of all is of utmost importance. Attempts to travel to Brook Hill should only be made if it is safe to do so.

During the school week: When Frederick County Public Schools (instructional and/or evening activities) are closed or close early due to inclement weather, all activities are canceled for the remainder of that day. Should schools open late due to inclement weather, morning activities will be canceled up until the rescheduled school opening time. Adult and activities will be at the determination of the ministry leader. The ministry leader will notify their participants and the church office administrator by email of any inclement weather cancellations for their activity. (Guiding assumption: If schools are closed, church activities for children and youth are canceled.)

For events that occur on weekends: Each ministry leader will make a determination about how safe it is to travel and will notify their participants and the church office administrator by email of any inclement weather cancellations for their activity. (Guiding assumption: Activities will take place unless notified otherwise.)

On Sunday morning: Determination of worship cancellations will be made by the Lead Pastor or Pastor in charge in consultation with the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees no later than 7:00 a.m. Notification of cancellation will be made by all means available. (Guiding assumption: Worship will take place as scheduled.)

Church office: Every attempt will be made to keep the church office open as usual. However, the church office may open late, close early, or be closed for the day based upon the determination of the Lead Pastor or Pastor in charge out of safety concerns for the staff and congregation. (Guiding assumption: The church office will be open as scheduled.)
