Upward Sports Basketball

Upward Sports is a recreational basketball league for kindergarten through 6th-grade children. The focus is to develop the self-esteem of each participant while teaching respect for authority, sportsmanship, character, and basketball skills. No previous playing experience is necessary!

Upward Sports limits time commitments to one practice and one game per week. Unique aspects of the program include:

  • distinctive substitution system to provide every child equal playing time, competing against equally matched opponents;
  • competitive games with strict adherence to a draft system that balances talent on each team;
  • supportive coaches who bring out the winner in every child, regardless of the game’s score.

Season Schedule

  • Practices are one day per week (Monday–Friday) for one hour, beginning in early December.
  • Games are held on Saturdays in January and February.

 

All practices and games are held at the Brook Hill UMC Life Activities Center, 8946 Indian Springs Rd. in Frederick.
