Adult Ministries

In addition to Sunday School classes for children and youth, Brook Hill offers a variety of opportunities for continuing education for adults. All are welcome and invited to participate in one of Brook Hill’s adult study and discussion classes, which are both on Sunday mornings and other days of the week.

For more information about any of these groups, contact the church office at brookhill@bhumc.org or 301-662-1727.

Adult Classes

CrossTalk: Sundays, 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. in Classroom BLed by Nan Principe-Crockett.

Seekers: Sundays, 9:30 a.m. in Classroom C
The Seekers Class is made up of adults who are young at heart and seeking to better understand Christ. Come join us as we continue our journey through The Bible to better understand our relationship with our Heavenly Father. We welcome everyone—interested visitors or regular attendees. Contact Dave Adams or Randy Golay for more information.

What’s Up – Adult Special Needs Sunday School: Sundays, 9:30 a.m. in the Conference Room
Our theme is John 13:31–35, Love. The New Commandment: “So, when he had gone out, Jesus said, “Now the Son of Man is glorified, and God is glorified in Him. If God is glorified in Him, God will also glorify Him in Himself, and glorify Him immediately. Little children, I shall be with you a little while longer. You will seek Me; and as I said to the Jews, ‘Where I am going, you cannot come,’ so now I say to you. A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this, all will know that you are My disciples if you have love for one another.”
Contact Chris Robucci for more information.

Waterboyz: Tuesdays, 9 a.m. in Classroom B
Waterboyz is a men’s Bible study that started in Frederick County some time ago and is now international. For women, there is a companion group called Water Lilies. Hope to see you at our next meeting!
Contact Dave Adams for more information.

Men’s Bible Study: Wednesdays, 7 p.m. on Zoom
The Men’s Bible Study is a small discussion group that meets weekly. They use both books of Bible and popular Christian authors as study material to develop a broader understanding and closer relationship with God. This is a casual study so feel free to join at 7 p.m. for fellowship or closer to 8 p.m. for the study itself.

Thirsty Mary’s: Thursdays, 10:00 a.m. in Classroom C
This is an open Bible study group for women of all ages, whether or not they are a member of Brook Hill. The group is run by shared leadership, and often starts with icebreakers, then moves on to a one-hour study of either a topical book or church-wide study. The group has done discussion time only as well. They end their time with prayer requests from each lady and recording in their journals. They welcome new “sisters” to meet and share with each week.
